Is there any reason to buy a full size SD card?

This proves that the adapters don't make a difference so I would just buy a fast micro SD card.

So I lost the SD card that I bought with my camera a few days ago. I now need to buy a new one and I've been looking around on amazon, however I have noticed something. In almost all cases, it is cheeper to buy the same capacity micro SD card rather than the normal full size SD card. Even when it says that they are rated for the same speeds, the micro SD version is usually a fair amount cheeper. Furthermore, most of the micro SD cards come with an adapter that makes it fit in normal full size SD readers. So, here is my question, is there some limiting feature or spec of a micro SD card that I'm not aware about? Will it be just as good as using a full size SD card that is rated the same speed and capacity? Is there any reason at all to buy a full size SD card, ever? By the way, I'm in Canada, so maybe SD card prices are different on other countries version of amazon.

Speed. Microsd cards are generally slower. Rated speeds are minimum speeds, they can run way faster than their rated speeds.

So if a micro SD and a full size SD are rated for the same speed, then the full size SD will generally run faster?

not necessarily, only applies to top of the line cards, but you asked for a reason, not for a particular scenario  :P  also like some people said sometimes cards with adapters refuse to work.

Oh okay, thank you. Ive got a cannon 60D and I've used various micro SD cards with an adaptor and they have all worked for me.
