Wattage For: Overclocked i5-4670K + ASUS HD 7950

looking to buy a new fully modular gold certified psu

 

i have an overclocked i5-4670k along with an overclocked asus hd 7950 gpu

 

cpu overclocked settings:

 

4.6 ghz core @ 1.30 vcore

4.5 ghz cache @ 1.32 vring

VCCIN @ auto

 

gpu overclocked settings:

 

1060 core

1650 memory

1.20 core voltage

 

can i get away with a 550w psu? or should i go higher?

 

at the moment, i have a 620w psu and it has been working without issue (as far as i know)

Why do you want to downgrade?

600-650W is what I'd suggest. I use to have a 630W but it got whiney so I changed it but 650W model wasn't in stock so I got this. Now I can run 2 :D

550w should be fine but why downgrade? in wattage?

thanks for the reply. i'm trying to save a bit of money. parts are expensive in canada, especially since our dollar is so weak compared to the usd

it's fine yes, but it's a bronze psu. i'd like to get a psu with better efficiency to save money on my power bill.

It will literally save you 5 bucks a year or something like that.

It'll save you like 30 cents in a year if you're an average user. If you run servers full time year round you'd save about 5 dollars.
