Windows 10 and antivirus software

xMishax
Go to solution Solved by TheKDub,

Avast is a good free one, I use it, malwarebytes anti-malware premium, and common sense for virus protection, and so far it hasn't failed me.

Hello everyone. Like many of you, I have upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7, then I decided to completely reset all my pc and wipe the drives. So now Im on nice and clean pc with new win 10. But to keep it clean I need antivirus. My question is do I really need antivirus or my Windows defender will deal just fine? If I need one, which one would you suggest to pick? Preferably the one with lowest resource usage and free to download.

Thank you and have a nice say ^^

Whatever you do, don't run more than one.  I've used Windows Defender (in conjunction with Internet Explorer) and the only time I have ever had any issues, I caused them myself by allowing the program to run.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

You can run one as a real time protection and the other as on demand scanning.
