Corsair CX600M not compatible with 2 way SLI?

Jadow

Hello guys,

I am planning my first ever PC build and ran into a slight complication that I am not sure how to handle exactly.

Here's the link to PcPartPicker. It is stated that I need 2 additional PCI-Express 6-pin power connectors if I want to have a 2 way SLI configuration. Is it because my power supply doesn't have enough power connectors to run 2 graphics cards? Is there a way I can fix this without having to change the power supply?

Thank you for your feedback,

Jad.

Yes it does, and that build needs some fixes

It's sort of unbalanced

no.

Yes cx600m only has two 2x 6+2 pins which is not enough for two gpu's.

Get a single 980ti and a different psu as the corsair CX series are rubbish compared to the competition for the same price.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

If you're wanting to sli them, you can buy Molex to 8pin/6pin connectors depending on what you need.

Thank you for putting the effort to write something that has absolutely no use to anyone :)

Would you mind pointing out what exactly is unbalanced?

Don't go with an unlocked cpu and use the stock cooler, you should at least get this cooler.

If you plan on doing SLI a 700+ psu is the minimum you should go. I recommend spending the extra cash compared to your previous psu. you never want to cheap out on a psu, especially if you plan on doing SLI.

You can save money by buying the OS on reddit or g2a for like $25

Would you mind pointing out what exactly is unbalanced?

This is why:

You should try to get a 980ti with that budget

Less power draw and lower temps

You can also get the OS from Reddit for cheaper

Also, kind of what others are suggesting. Instead of spending $340 plus shipping per gpu, which would be pushing $700, you're much better off just spending the $700 to buy an MSI 980ti

I am aware and will be getting the CM V8 GTS cooler a couple of weeks after I finish my build.

Thank you for your feedback guys. I guess I'll hold off buying the GPU for now. The reason I was going for SLI was because I can't afford the 980ti just yet and starting with one 970 and then upgrading with a second one seemed easier.

one thing about that, you're much better off getting a single strong gpu, since not as many games in comparison support SLI
