Windows 10 failed :(

Go to solution Solved by techguru,

if i install from iso my data will not gone ?

you should backup your data first before doing it

but in theory...if you choose keep files and settings it should be ok

keep in mind ...you probably will wanna do a clean install after you have upgraded so you have less problems

in which case you will wanna backup everything anyway

hello guys

i have windows 8.1 64bit and i want to upgrade to windows 10 i download (MediaCreationToolx64) and it look like this Manually-Start-Windows-10-Upgrade-Begin.

Download the ISO. Use rufus and copy the ISO to an USB. Run the setup through the USB and you are good to go.

how many programs do you have....really..you shouldn't need to backup the programs

just maybe the config data for them

and the install files

yea you will

thats the point of a clean install

fresh clean start

I would bit the bullet and do it...it shouldn't really take more then a few hours to reinstall your programs

just make sure you backup the install files..and perhaps the config data for some of the more complex programs

Hopefully you haven't done anything yet. All that needed here, is to change the language pack to English US. I changed it on the keyboard and the default language. Restarted, and then it works perfectly fine through the tool.

long as you don't accidently format the e partition...installing to c would be fine
