Need Case Advice : Silent Base 800 vs Fractal Design R5 ! and some power supply questions !

Hi everyone!  :)

I wanted some advice for my new case, which i want to be very quiet, and i'm actually hesitating between two cases : The Silent Base 800 case from BeQuiet and The Fractal Design R5 from fractal design obviously both in the windowed version. I kinda prefer the look of the Silent Base 800 and all the little new thing that he provides in terms of building (like those HDD silicon racks who seems easier to mount and reduce vibrations) and the double-window thing seems to be more quiet than the simple window of the R5. But i keep hearing so much good about the R5 but i can't really find how he would be better than the Silent Base 800   and i feel like they both seems pretty equal in other features.

So hopefully you'll help me see what major difference they have. I'm mostly looking for a case who combine Silence and a good air flowing for a cool gaming config at a 100-150 dollars cost so i stopped mostly on those one but if you think of a particular case that i could've missed share it with me !

As we are in the power supply section too, I would want to ask what power I need to run my build :

- I7 4790k (4.0Ghz)

- Asus GTX 980 or 980 Ti (does the ti requires more power ?)

- 16 Gb memory

- 2 HDD 1 To

- 1 SSD 250 go

- a blue ray disc player

- a be Quiet Dark pro 3 and 4 silentwings/purewings

all of this on a Asus Maximus VII Ranger motherboard.

I'm currently aiming for a Be quiet Pure power L8 730W CM, is that enought  ? or is it too much ? what if i want to go on Sli in the future ?

Waiting for your advices guys !
PS : Sorry if my english is a bit shakky , i'm a french guy  :)

I like the be quiet a lot. it is my favorite case for it's design and silence. For a PSU the EVGA 550W GS will suffice for ya :)

PS: Your English is superb :)

Antec High Current Gamer?

Perhaps you could check out the PSU Whitelist in my signature below and read through the offerings there to see if any of those are available in your country :)

You should be OK with that be quiet! Pure Power L8 like you mentioned before if that is easier for you to purchase.

From a older post

"So basically

silent base comes with 3 fans, has watercooling suport on top of the case for a 280 rad and has better side ventilation if you choose to use it

The r5 has tons of flexibility you can put a 360 rad in front or a 240 on the bottom and move the hard drive cages around to suit your needs.

it comes with only 2 fans and putting a radiator on top is not ideal because of the moduvent system the define r5 has has a fan controller and it's fans go slower so it is a bit quieter

If you use a fan controller on the silent base it is similar however"

i'd go for the silent base 800 because of the way it looks (That orange is pretty awesome), I'd suggest having an extra fan in the bottom and one in the top.

personally, i'd go for a straight power because of quality.
