Original Xbox motherboard replacement?

So the Xbox I just got my hands on is in need of a motherboard replacement (leaking cap which has slowly damaged other hardware on the motherboard), and I found a motherboard on eBay. My question is, will I be able to just drop it in and go? It doesn't come with a hard drive, which is why I ask.

Just drop it in and use the current HDD

yep assuming everything else is there (surface mounted) you should just be able to drop and boot.

Yup, you will need the key of the motherboard in the hard drive, if you don't do that you will get an error screen.

Thats free with a warranty which still lasts for most people, and if not, its not that expensive :)

There is no way in a single xbox is still under manufacter warranty

the xbox has been out of production for 7 years. (in some regions even more) There are none under warranty.

Microsoft doesn't even offer support for the things anymore.

how did you get warranty for a product that has been abandoned for almost decades ago (if not more)

we are talking about XBOX right?

not 360 or Xbone

 

because i have broken xbox (with 8GB HDD)

We're talking an original, big, black, clunky, Xbox. Not the 360. MS may not even offer any repair service for it at all,which I highly suspect.
