USB Crash on Windows 10

I guys,

 

I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit

 

Whenever i insert my USB drive Transcend 64GB into ANY of the USB slots, it crashes, and restarts.

Any idea why?

It's listed as compatible on the microsoft site.

I've tried formatting it on another windows 10 PC, didn't work. - Yes it works on other windows 10 PC's, and it's worked on this pc running W7 Ultimate previously.

 

My hardware hasn't changed.

It could also be PSU related that psu cannot handle that many usb devices, unplug all the usb devices and only plug in the usb key that causes the issue, yes even the keyboard and mouse just to be sure.

If its indeed psu its likely it won't do it again if you unplug all other usb devices.

Other+Multiple USB's work just fine.

If you have random screen blinking and beeping read here looks g510 related only but it may as well effect all logitech keyboards.

Also about the usb key crashing take a note of the time and then check event viewer go down around the time it happend last time, it may give some more info.

 

I asume it did't do this under windows 7 or 8 when plugged in usb.

Where's the event viewer even? haha It just straight up crashes. Dumps the file I think, and just restarts. Same story any usb port, and any time. Just that usb.

Did you unplug all usb devices yet only pluging in the usb key with everything else removed ?

Would least confirm that its not psu, although i be woried anyway about psu even if its not causing issues.

It's not the PSU, it worked on Windows 7, and any other USB sticks work. A USB stick can't pull more than 0.5A 5V ~2.5W, so no way the PSU is fucking that up.

If you have dmp file thats great.

Press windows+x key there should be event viewer down there in the list right below power options could be called event log to depends on language you installed.

Your probably right but can never be to sure, i assume you already tested it though since it does't hurt to test out anyway.

where do i find the dump file ?

 

Memory.dmp is 600 mb

Which makes sense, because it crashes as soon as I insert this USB.

But why, and now what do I do? Delete the file?

Trying to update the chipset drivers.

 

Okay there is no chipset driver, but there is a BIOS update. Will try that.

Bump??? ANYONE?? Please help! Still crashes when I insert the USB, after the CHIPSET & BIOS updates. No clue wtf is wrong with that USB.

I've contacted ASUS; who said that they couldn't do anything about it basically.

 

Newest windows updates make it work on USB2.0 but not USB 3.0

It's okay since it's a USB 2.0 flash stick anyway.
