New monitor buying help, ISP vs 144 hertz tn panel

Bigtargyle

Hello guys,

I am looking for a monitor ~$200, this is a bit flexible +/- 50 ish. I am really wanting to try a 144 hertz monitor, but simply put I don't know if my machine will reap the benefits. I have a single gtx 770 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741), 16 gigs of ram, and an i5-4690k clocked at stock speeds @ 3.5 Ghz.

My main concern is the gpu. Is it good enough to get the benefits of the 144hrtz or should I go with the better looking ISP monitors. I don't have the money to upgrade my GPU for the next year or two.

Thanks guys!

*IPS

With a 770, I would go for a nice IPS monitor, unless you play games like CS:GO that you can run at 144FPS. The Dell U2414H is worth taking a look at, though it may be slightly out of budget.

Welp, apparently I need a Internet service provider or a monitor.... I'll try to change that (can't change the title, now and forevermore I will sound like an idiot).

I do play a lot of cs go, That is my main game (over 3000 hours). I am considering buying the 144 to 'future proof the monitor'. Any thoughts on that?

Yes, you will reap the fucking benefits! (TN screens dont look too good, but they have cheap 144hz ones)

Heres your monitor: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umfg6aab01

Unless you mostly play the most demanding new games and like to turn up all the settings, then you want this 75hz IPS:
