Francesco

Comming close to finishing my new pc build .
These are the parts i already have :

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YXms7P

Now i'm not sure wich graphics card i should buy , budget is around 240Euro .

I was looking at one of these cards :

-Gigabyte GV-R928WF3OC-3GD --> R9 280

-Gigabyte GV-N960G1 Gaming-2GD --> GTX 960

Both of these cards would cost around 240Euro.

All suggestions are welcome .

The first I assume is a gigabyte r9 280 and that would be the better choice

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

first one, 960 is pointless imo.

considering you can now pick up a r9 290 for a similar price

It depends on what you want. The 280 would perform a little better, but the 960 is quieter and uses less power. The 960 can also be overclocked much more than the 280 can.

Actually, I would get a cheaper motherboard and then dump the money for a better GPU, like the r9 280x.

You also need an after market cooler to overclock that chip.

was gonna say the something.

get a cheaper mobo and a better gpu.

If you are strapped on cash OP get a used 290x on eBay.

Are there any R9 380 4GB or 280x? If these are your only choices I'd go for the 280.

snip

Get a cheaper motherboard and grab a 380 or 280x or 280

Then add a decent cooler for OC

The cheapest R9 290 is £75 more than the cheapest GTX 960... Not similar, not even close. Stop spreading false info please.

UK PCPartPicker. Also the cheapest NEW R9 290 is £224.... Whereas the cheapest GTX 960 is £149... And don't pull new/used on me, that varies so much in prices reliability quality etc that it is a moot point to mention on an international forum.

Worth it to spend the extra money and get the 380 ?
