Silverer

^ So yeah, which would be closest height wise?

Not quite sure what you mean.

Say a 16:9 monitor is 40cm high, what would the 21:9 screen size be to be 40cm height, simple maths I know but I'm tired and havent done maths like 4 years now xD

Right so I did a super janky calculation so I might be completely wrong... If you were to have a 21:9 and 16:9 monitor next to each other you would need to have a 24' 16:9 monitor and a 29' 21:9 monitor.

I've figured this out by looking at 2 monitors of that type, in this case LG 29UM57 and the LG 24MP56HQ-P. Looking at the specifications for both and the dimensions of the of the Monitor without Stand and comparing them the LG 29UM57 is 27.7" x 12.9" x 2.5" (W x H x D) and the 24MP56HQ is 21.8" x 13.0" x 2.3" (W x H x D). So comparing the height you would be 0.1" (2.54 millimetres) off so almost a perfect match. Now accounting for the thickness of the bezels you could have the actually screen slightly larger than another but it would be very close. Also both monitors are 1080p so the pixels should align almost perfectly horizontally.

So when trying to match a 16:9 and 21:9 monitor what you need to look for is for the pixel height like 1080 and for the actual monitor height to match so that the screens look perfectly in line and the resolution matches.

Not sure if this actually is how it would be so take it with a grain of salt. Also the is technically LG 24MP56HQ-P 23.8" diagonal so not quite 24" but it's classed as one.

EDIT: Oh yeah and you would have to make sure that the stands have height adjustment so you could get both monitors or at least one adjusted to match the height of another.

Well seeing as I'm currently using 1/3rd of an ikea coffee table to have my monitor at the right height next to my crappy tv I use as a second screen I'm sure I can make a stand to keep them the same heght as I was looking at buying this monitor, though I might go for the 34 as its only $200 more and would mean I can use it instead of my tv for watching content.
