Help me make the ULTIMATE mouse comparison photo! :D

Keystone Nyan Cat

Hello! I want to make a photo comparing different sizes of gaming mice, but it's taking a lot of time (mice are expensive!), so I thought I’d ask for help :) I'm not going to ask for funding, but rather you take photos of your mice in a standardized format and send it to me; it's that simple! I will do the editing and compilation of the photos and will upload the result. This would be beneficial for everyone- when buying a new mouse, it's often difficult to assimilate the size of the new mouse with respect to the current one being used. This project will enable you to gauge the size of your mouse, entitling you to make a more informed decision.

How to take the picture-

  1. Download the template and print it on an A4 sheet of paper; place the the Lego bushing and SD card as required on the marked spot on the sheet. [Printing using Windows Photo Viewer for the .jpeg yielded a more accurate scale than did the .pdf for the template]
  2. Secure the sheet to a surface (e.g.- using blutac) and place the mouse on it, with the front at the given marking.
  3. For the side photo, ensure the base of the stud and base of the mouse are on the same level (see correct and incorrect photos); and place a green colored sheet as the backdrop (easy if placed against a wall) PS- If you have an adjustable mouse such as the Ouroboros or Cyborg’s RAT, its dimensions can vary. For this, kindly take a photo of its largest and smallest variations for top down and side view.
  4. Take a photo of the setup in a well-lit room, ensuring the nearest point of the camera is exactly 15cm (5.9 inches) away from the dotted line for the side view, and at least 45cm (17.7 inches) for the top down view.
  5. Kindly send your mouse's photo to corermaximus@outlook.com, preferably by the 15th of August. I would appreciate putting your mouse's model number and revision as the subject (it makes it easier to organize) and including your username in the body so I can acknowledge your contribution once the project is over!

I'll do the rest! :)

Based on the amount of brands and models of mice I receive, I plan to make versions for each brand, and one master version containing all the mice. All editing will be done using Photoshop, and everyone who sends me a photo will be acknowledged. I've already done so with four of my own mice. Here’s the Side View, the Top Down View, and here’s me taking the pictures

Thank you!

Do I really need a lego bushing? why not rulers and or coin currency?

or the good ol beer can?

I can contribute a g600 to this, and the deather adder chroma as well as the steel series rival if no one else does them

edit

op did a g600

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch
