My deep hatred for fighter's (Rant)

SImoHayha

The number one game genre I suck balls at is fighters goddamn fighters piss me off constantly. Here are a couple of reasons why.

Number one: It's called a fighter but should be called a goddamn juggling game. Most fighting games I play you are mostly trying to juggle your opponents. Am looking mostly at the Tekken series which has single handedly make me hate fighting games. You aren't trying to time your hits right and feel out your opponent, no its more like feel like hitting your opponent then launch them sky high in the air and keep beating down on them without any type of chance of recovery.

This is utter bullshit everytime I play Tekken Revolution I can barely even play that shit online, because every time I do try to think of a strategy against other players either A I don't attempt to juggle because I can't juggle for shit or B I fail to even hit the opponent with a multitude of strikes and they launch my ass in the air and I lose which makes me angry. I can suffer a lost or two but frecking four times in  a row ? That is going to drive anyone mad

Number two: Bullshit button combos. I know there is a list of moves for each character however sometimes they are completely non-sense jesus christ mate how the hell am I suppose to do these in a string ? For example I was just recently Tekken 5 via emulator playing it as Steve Fox and he has many combos requiring. Keys( TD= Tap Down, TDR= Tap Down Right, HLD= Hold Left Down) And I have no bloody Idea how to do them correctly sure I can view a damn demo but what does that do ?

There isn't much of a tutorial for that matter telling what each symbol does as well. I had to look up online for a few things because they expected me to some how know all about this non-sense before hand for example [ X, T ] means quickly tap these two buttons in rapid succession. Also certain combos overlap each other meaning that sometimes when you are trying to do one move you accidentally do another one.

Number three: Button timing.  This is a small section but button timing is extremely odd, I usually even look at the combo list and you know what when I do the damn thing It doesn't even give me the right combo. I would correctly press the buttons then it wouldn't even do it right, I had to keep taping afterward to keep it going for example.

Steve has a combo something like : Square,Triangle,Square, TD, Triangle. Now I would do this in practice mode doing the same thing, and you know what it doesn't even give me the correct combo it gives me : Square,Triangle,Square. WTF MAN? I correctly did the damn thing and your over here giving me the wrong combo.

Number Four : Endless combos/Juggles. The number one damn issue is getting stuck in a endless combo and juggle and no damn way of getting or breaking out of it. Except in SkullGirls they managed to remedy this issue by allowing you to press simply one button after the game checks that you are stuck in a loop of hits and your not moving or can do a action.

I would be playing some Tekken Revolution and go into a PvP match. The match starts then he gets me into an endless loop combo/juggle

It's bloody Ridiculous I can barely even enjoy the match and am already trying to roll around only to suffer from getting caught into another combo.

So yea that ends my little rant. Also I suppose I could toss in the dark soul trope meaning going into the game not knowing anything about the game or know how to do much. Without research.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

Agreed. They're not fighting games, they're kiting and juggling games. Couldn't hate SSB anymore than I already do. Then again, I've never been particularly good at them, mainly just being that guy who spends all his times on Mobas and RTS'

It really depends on how much time you put into the games

Some people hate MOBAs because they think it takes too much time

Some people play CoD over CS:GO because they don't think they would waste 90mins on a single match

Same as how some people hate Fighters because they didn't want to take time practicing endless amounts of difficult combos just to win a game

I used to be into the Soul Calibur series until #4. I could learn a few characters and learn their fighting style and got quite good with them. But no mater how hard to tried, I could not improve beyond that and could never get past certain points in the game. I'm talking hours upon hours of practice.

Then, my brother-in-law, who's only played the game a handful of times, defeats the opponent I've been trying to beat forever - in a few tries.

For my own health and sanity, I haven't touched the game since and have no desire to play fighter games anymore.

I am bad at traditional fighters but I like watching them be played professionaly. I really like ssbm though (and I acctually am able to play that one). It dosent force you to memorize button combos but still has advanced techs.

I've always been terrible at fighting games as well. I try to do the combo's, but they just never work.

So I don't play them. Although I wish I could go back and finish the Fight Club video game for the original Xbox, mainly because it had an amazing soundtrack.

When I play fighting games , I spam buttons without letting the opponent doing their fancy comboes ... Guess how that turned out ...

... Life is a game and the checkpoints are your birthday , you will face challenges where you may not get rewarded afterwords but those are the challenges that help you improve yourself . Always live for tomorrow because you may never know when your game will be over ... I'm totally not going insane in anyway , shape or form ... I just have broken English and an open mind ...

The only fighting game I've played for more than 3 minutes was MK9 and I finished the damn thing with a keyboard lol, I sucked at the game though.

I also vaguely remember playing a silly Xbox game called Backyard Wrestling, and some of Dead or Alive also on the the original Xbox.

Other than that I got my ass kicked in Soul Calibur V by a 11-13 year old girl xD.

I really don't have much experience with fighting games.

As a side note, I find Fight Night Champion to be a fun boxing game.

Don't like the, don't play them that simple. I don't play DDR for that reason.

Fighting games require a lot of strategy it's a nice fresh of breath air as opposed to playing mobas.

Fighting games are extremely enjoyable when playing with a fightstick.
