OC G3258 won't work with Windows 10

I tried to install windows 10 after I got the update but no matter what I did it would not work. After reinstalling windows 8.1 I tried it again and but still the same error. I looked online for a solution and found out that I am not the only one with this problem. The solution was to take off the OC and try it again. Guess what? it worked. I started this thread to let people who have this same problem know what is going on. To be clear the fix is something that killed my performance by half because I had to turn off overclocking. I really hope that Intel or Microsoft take care of this problem soon, if not theni have to go back to windows 8.1.

Error code:(C1900101-20017)

The other issue that people are having is having to disable one of the cores.

My results:
1 Core Stock = Boot
1 Core OC'd = Boot
2 Cores Stock = No boot
2 Cores OC'd = No boot

Check with your motherboard manufacturer to see if there are new drivers and/or a new BIOS version.

Now intel locked down overclocking in g3258 with new windows if you uses h or b series chipset.
ASRock already updated the bios but all it does just turn on 2 cores on stock and turned off overclocking. Intel finally did it they locked down overclocking for h and b series chipset.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
And i just wanted to ask is pentium to core i3 a worthy upgrade?

But is it better to go for z97 mobo or to core i3?
Thanks before

Just bump on up to a core i3. The Pentium is only likely to cause MORE problems down the line rather than less.

By "WInX" do you mean Windows 10 and if so what MOBO are you using?
