Scratch case build, the Poorair C3000

RobTapps

Put tinfoil between the outer cardboard surface and the outer wrapping. It will keep electrical noise down.

The wrapping is just more cardboard with a pattern on it ;)

Testing the rad, had to change some stuff up since earlier but it's coming along, will have more pics up tomorrow afternoon :)

How will you be handling cable management and routing?

That's a secret ;) the case should be done by tomorrow (minus long screws for the motherboard and a window)

Slowly coming together.

It's a lot of cutting then testing fitment then cutting a little more then testing at the moment, trying to geget final fitments just right before gluing any more, as it sits braces have been glued in around the window area, the corsair PSU cover is glued in (top is still loose) the rad has its final place, and the PSU area is about 85% done, the I/O sheild is going to be a little tricky..

(Again excuse the mess its my workbench [emoji14])

Guys, quit complaining about the amd CPU. This is a free forums, people can do what they want.

There was no complaint on this here thread, dude. Just friendly conversation at most.

not earlier. I guess it wasn't that aggressive, I have seen worse here.

Even then, it was chiefly a complaint towards those who complain without knowing about it.

And besides, that's not even the objective of what's going on here. It's a pure DIY case thing at most.

I personally don't recommend AMD FX CPUs, but if they want to go that way regardless, I'm in no position to stop them. Personally, however, if one were to go AMD, I recommend one to get an APU instead.

That's really all it boils down to.

Now if we could move on from component discussion and back to the main event - the Poorair - that would be grand.

So close to being done, just need more (black) cardboard for the bare sides and bottom, and to install the ridged price that will hold the rear i/o pannel in place. Everything else is finished glue wise, now to obtain a window.. Oh and almost forgot gotta make pcie card holders.

Someone call up Corsair I think you're onto something here.

Prototyping haha ;), it sucks running out of cardboard though, need a ridged type for the outer and inner layers, the middle corsair box is dual layer corrugated so I figure that should act as sound dampening..
