I doubt anyone is going to want to buy that second hand almost no matter what price you put on it.

I wouldn't be to sure about that, but to each his own. The middle ground in the $350-500(not saying that's how much its worth) range is pretty great for after market sales in my opinion.

Would you mind elaborting? $150 is cheaper than a chromebook. I was thinking at least $350.

I wouldn't cross $250 for that myself. You've got a terribly weak APU and a secondhand ASUS and no dGPU in it. Gaming benchmarks are the least of your concerns with it, really.

The HDD is also a 5400RPM 500GB

It's not that for mundane usage the machine itself is all that bad... but it's that it's second hand and ASUS, with very mediocre parts.

Even on that amazon page, there's one used for $300. An extra 4GB of RAM isn't $50

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

A few questions.

What exactly is so bad about it being an ASUS laptop? I notice you keep adding that fact in :/

You mentioned the APU is so weak that gaming benchmarks won't matter. I'm not really getting this point as I've not had problem with web browsing, auto cad, and other casual non gaming scenerios.

Another side note: The APU is upgradeable up to the a10-5750m

ASUS laptops have a notorious reputation among those who know their notebooks. They have a very noticably high chance of breaking down after short periods of time. Sometimes you buy a dud, or your laptop suddenly degrades in a year. Random motherboard issues, USB ports not working, shutdowns, high temps that repasting may or may not help, etc. And ASUS support basically uses other bad laptops to get replacement parts when people get problems, so you usually enter a sort of "customer support hell" with them. I HATE recommending ASUS to people, and if I do, I make sure they know about this.

The APU is weak yes, but for normal scenarios it shouldn't be a problem. But that's why I said gaming benches etc shouldn't really be a selling point. That being said, all the APUs fall into the same kind of category as the intel ULV chips, which means they're only meant for basic usage. If you had the A10 in there it'd be a better sell, I won't lie.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
