2 problems, help would be great.

drew1ind

First, my specs.

Cpu: AMD A8-5600k

mobo: MSI A88XM-E45

OS: Win 10 pro

storage: 1tb seagate barracuda 7200rpm (bought months before seagate changed their logo), samsung 850 evo 500gb

PSU: SeaSonic X-650, revision 2

VGA: Club3D R9 270

First problem, not important(?)

Basically, I hear a "transformer" noise coming from my pc, sounds like buzzing.

SeaSonic says to enable all power saving options in the bios; all I know is to enable EuP 2013, which does nothing.

I don't think I've ever heard this before (my old psu had a loud fan, so I wouldn't know)

Is this important? Is there a solution? hit the like button for more information please tell me.

Second problem, maybe important(?)

For my second problem, my HDD sometimes randomly makes a sound as if it's turning off.

However, I get no stalls for my programs, and every single diagnostic reports no problems. I can also defrag without issues. Side note: This could be caused by psu power cables... I may try fiddling with them.

My power options set hdds to power off after 600 minutes, or 10 hours. It was previously set to never.

Is this normal? I don't remember hearing it... (Again, could just be masked by fans) Just a quick F.Y.I, I've backed up all important data (saves, etc), and also have another drive at my... "disposal".

This HDD is also around 8 months old.

This could all be caused by my SeaSonic PSU, as I only started to notice these things once I installed it. I got it ~a week ago from newegg (Old was a coolermaster eXtreme power plus 600w if im not mistaken).

that sound is coil whine, nothing you can do about it.

reset your harddrive sleep to never.

that's probably because of the power savings settings you added.

turn all savings off and slap it in performance mode :D

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Someone is faster than me.Basically what that dude said

Okay, I put it on performance mode, and set it to never. Will see if the HDD sounds have stopped.

SeaSonic tells people that mobo power saving options help the noise; they seem to be non-existent to the options I have in mine, which is EuP 2013.

Incase you were wondering, I got that info from newegg.

*EDIT*

My coil whine is nothing like what Linus showed in his video where he plays Halo to demonstrate it. It's more like the sound you hear when you get close to an electrical box, usually found near sidewalks (atleast, for me).

*EDIT #2*

Wow, the HDD sound stopped. Thanks a bunch :)

As for coil whine I think the only way to fix that would be to buy another psu. However, I cannot hear it with my headset on (which I normally use), so I think it's not an issue.
