Next year: redo this build with watercooling

Full water cooling

Im talking the overkill watercooled pc

But also water cool the RAM, chipset, etc.

Hardline That stuffz

But thats not all: You need to use a phase change water cooler for cooling the water, along with radiators.

Oh, one more thing: Gold plate all the blocks, And gold plate the metal parts of a similar case to this one.

He said in a later video, all the GPUs used are in the editing stations now so he can't use them for testing.

Would love to see it watercooled, like entirely watercooled, from the CPU to the RAM. Like even the pump motor has his own dedicated waterloop. Guys, we are talking overkill, we have to go beyond limits, we have to think out of the box. What if you could run a separate system just for the OS and ressources from this one is used when you are gaming.

 

But for now just a dual watercooling loop (a loop for the 4 titan x and a loop for all the other components) would be way better. And of course overclocked, but it would need another power supply, so it means another case (like caselabs) to fit the two PSU.
So Compensator 2.0 would need caselabs STH10 or TH10A, 4 D5 pump (2 per loop), a bunch of waterblocks and rads, etc... Pretty sure EKWB would be interested in sponsoring this !

Hello i have a question ... on spec of i7 5960x the max ram memory capacity is 64 go in max speed of 2133 mhz ? How did you manage to you free from this problem ?

Slight issue - the 5960X only supports 64GB RAM. Whoops - I just spent $500 extra on RAM that I'm not even going to be able to use.

Yeah that's the issue. The Xeon equivalent will be able to use the other half of the 128GB of RAM. I checked on PCPartPicker and there are some issues with this build, and the IMC on the 5960X is one of those issues with the 128GB of RAM, as it's limited to 64GB.

Hi,

 

I'm new to this LTT forums, but been watching a lot of LTT videos since before. Then just lately I found myself trying to build my gaming RIG but still a newbie to it. Can you help me out, coz I'm planning to get this same Lian Li PC-08 case but not sure with the airflow it has, so basically:

1. I will use Swiftech H220 X2 AIO as my CPU cooler, and since it has this mounted reservoir I need to mount it on top of case which fans I plan to replace to Noctua NF-F12s
2. I'll get 2 GTX 980 Ti ROG Matrix 6GB use them in SLI

3. I'm getting an E-ATX ROG Maximus VIII Extreme MoBo
4. I have no other liquid cooled components so the 1 fan at the back, the other two at the back 2nd compartment, and the 3 other in front would all be probably replaced by some LED fans either Sliverstone APs or BitFenix Spectres

Now, I'm actually confused whether its fine to use PC-08's original airflow arrangement with this setup, or should I change it? or basically PC-08's cooling performance isn't really for air cooled GPUs? I absolutely love this case's design, but I'm a bit worried about the cooling.

 

I'm happy to hear suggestions and better if benchmarks as long as I know I wont be destroying my components. Thanks :)

Actually, I've got an idea although this may sound ridiculous, I'm planning:
1. to use the rear 2nd compartment fan at the hard drive cage be intake
2. to make the 3 fans in front to suck out air from the rear 2nd compartment fan then let that air bounce of to the front to provide more cool air (this is the ridiculous part)
2. make the 1st compartment rear fan be exhaust as well as the 2 top fans which sits above a radiator.

Would that be fine? or just plainly impossible?
