How much harder is it to drive a 2k monitor?

Medium to high settings should do fine. I can run 4K at med to high on a 980 so 2560 should be no problem. You might be able to squeeze some settings on ultra :D You should be fine though :)

I am looking to buy a new monitor and I came across a 27" 2k monitor. How much harder is it for the graphics card to drive than 1080p? I have a gtx 970 card. As an example, lets say i'm trying to run GTA 5 at medium-high settings. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
