Sexy Air Cooler?

Tim Drake

Okay so I looked at the Dark Rock Pro 3 and it is very very appealing (the top) so I wanted to see what other options I had looks wise.

I'm not sure about the V8 GTS, I think it looks great but performance for the price sux dix

Budget of under £40 preferable and it needs to be quiet (not the company) non overclocked

Love these, have a V10 and it's wonderful. This is just smaller.

EDIT: I guess the new one is about $80. First gen was about 50, try and find one maybe?

The Dark Rock coolers are fine if you can deal with the annoying mounting hardware. Also look at stuff from Cryorig, their coolers look damn good.

I don't know why though, but I absolutely love Zalman's CNPS9900MAX.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, it costs about $30 USD. I have an i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz and my temps at idle are 23C and under load they NEVER go above 50C, even if I'm rendering a video. Can't go wrong with a cooler that cheap that gives you excellent performance like that. It's not sexy looking though, but it gets the job done.

CPU: Core i7 4790k - CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate - GPU: Asus GTX 980Ti - Motherboard: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming - Ram: 20GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @ 1600MHz - Storage: ADATA 256GB SSD, Samsung 840 Evo 1TB SSD & WD 1TB HDD 7200RPM - PSU: NZXT Hale90 V2 1000W Gold+ - Case: Phantek Enthoo Primo Black Exterior/White Interior - Display: Samsung 29" Curved Ultra Wide - Keyboard & Mouse: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate & Roccat Tyon - Sound: Razer Kraken USB Headphones, Blue Yeti, Logitech z313 Speakers

The dark rock coolers are brilliant! I've got the Dark Rock Pro 2 and it is amazing! Dead silent - both fans run at 500rpm most of the time.

I may be selling mine some time soon though

Sure let me know when you are, you are in the UK so shipping isn't too bad :D

When it's just $35 makes it way more sexy

Nope.

I really don't like the Hyper 212 EVO considering you can get a Pure Rock for only a slight bit extra and a much better overall experience.

Don't get a V8, its a looker, not a performer. Cryorig is an excellent brand, the R1 for great cooling, H7 for budget, H5 for middle point. I think Thermalright coolers look great, the macho with the black top, awesome. Phanteks makes high performing and nice looking coolers for decent prices.

Well if youre willing to paint it black and get a nice fan(s) for it, probably wouldnt look all that ugly at all. I plan on doing it at some point with mine as well, fun little project + nicer cooler in the end :)

i always thought the V8s coolers design was really stupid and unnecessary but i never saw what it looked like when installed. and i must say it does look really nice.

Thermalright true copper... I think is very good looking solid feeling cooler. Also prolimatech megahalem is a very nice looking one, and feels very solid.
