Gaming Build for < 1500$

Hello there :)

so im about to buy a new gaming rig, and i made a list of components i would buy, in case, i really want to buy the Silent Base 800 from bequit, so theres no other option...

Here´s the list

- [ ] Be quit! Silent Base 800 - 129,06

- [ ] i5 4690k - 239,32
- [ ] Msi Gtx 980 PCIe 548,85
- [ ] Msi Z97M - 147,85
- [ ] 16Gb HyperX Beast DDR3 - 93,10
- [ ] 1Tb WD-Blue - 49,94
- [ ] 250Gb Samsung Evo 850 - 103,68
- [ ] Be quit! Dark Rock 3 - 56,85
- [ ] Be quit 600W system 7 - 71,41

Is it worth the money? And do the components work together? Or should i buy something else..?

Thanks and have a nice day!

you don't need 16 gigs of ram if you're just gaming with it. Getting 8 gb will save you 40-45 dollars

It seems like a great build! I would get a Gigabyte 980 though, because backplates look badass.

Agreed. I would spend that money on some extra case fans or maybe even shiny LED's Kappa

I disagree every time someone says this. Some games like GTA V use up a ton of ram and you can't have 10Tabs open while watching a YouTube video and just do all this stuff in the background while gaming. It's not happening. 16gbs is a MUST in tons of situations.

The MSI card is quieter, and matches the motherboard better in this case.

Well most people dont game with 10 tabs opens and watching a video at the same time...

Anyone with more then one monitor does. Heck I found some cheap 19inch widescreen monitor in my basement and since it's only used for forumn browsing and stuff I doubt I could ever go without 2 or more monitors.

sounds good, what about the motherboard? is it sli ready and is the case big enough for a seconds GPU in the future?

EDIT: yes, the bequiet case you chose can handle 2-3 graphics cards in sli or crossfire

the motherboard is both sli and crossfire ready. if you want to make your build sli proof for the future, i would suggest getting a bigger psu now and a roomier case. i know nothing about the bequit one you chose. i do know that the fractal design arc xl is enough for 2-3 cards though.

by the way, x2 980's can handle 1440p at max settings most of the time with excellent fps. it's just enough to play 4k at a decent frame rate, but it won't max things out and give you 60 fps.

I had 2x 8Gb sticks, but after reading the posts here I brought it down to 1 stick.

I had a HDD as well, but took it out. That 2TB WD Green should work just fine.

As far as the changes go...

I always like making a themed build, in this case I went black and white, I thought it matched the be quite! series well. Especially if you get the silver case version.

With a few changes I was able to get a 980 Ti into the build, enjoy.

whats about a Nxzt 630 ? its very big and it would easily handle 2 or more GPU´s in the future, right? so i really like the Silent Base 800 but im not sure if its big enough if i want to update my Pc, and thats most important? Will i need some more wings for the Nxzt/Bequit ?

For The Money, Wait until Skylake CPU's Come Out And Z170 Mobo's And Then Build your PC. From the benchmarks that have been leaked, this is only a Slight improvement over Devils Cannon, But The overclocking Is Superior to the 4690k. Also with the extra money that has Been saved From the Part Swaps, You should consider a 980ti

Core i7 2600, Gigabyte GTX 570, Asus P8Z68-V LX, 16gb (4x4gb) Kingston ValueRam, CoolerMaster 600Watt PSU
