How to install apps to external sd card by default?

I tried this tutorial http://www.howtogeek.com/114667/how-to-install-android-apps-to-the-sd-card-by-default-move-almost-any-app-to-the-sd-card/ but whenever an app installs it keeps saying that there isn't enough space even thought there is plenty(3GB+)? Any other way to do this?
