Is it worth watercooling this?

Well i did some research, and found that there is no full cover block for my graphics card. and my intel core i7 is not a k version meaning its not easy to overclock and cant be overclocked much at all.

Why watercool a locked CPU? The AMD GPU I understand, they are heaters...

Yeah, as you said: you are using a non-reference GPU, which will make it difficult to find a compatible block for it. Also the non-K CPU. I don't think it's worth to watercool this system.

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

Watercooling is not necessity, it is an enthusiast thing. I did it, for the first time this April, it was fun to build it. If you do it properly, chances of leaking are minimal. Today I am about to disassemble the loop and swap 780 Classy for 980 Ti Classy and do some minor changes to the tubing.

I'd say, if you have limited money, buy yourself new GPU or AIO WC for your CPU, or new K series CPU.

WC will give you some benefits, it is dead silent, components are much cooler, more headroom for OC (not with Maxwell, it needs sub-zero temps).

The main con is, that is is quite pricey, PC gets really heavy, all the rads, water etc. (my Enthoo Primo fully loaded is difficult to move for LAN parties for instance and I am not some weakling :D), another con is, that the heat dissipated from your components will fill your room.

It's always best on forums like this, to give the people here budget.

Well. Iv'e had a quick look. the gtx 970 or the r9 290x seem like resonable graphics cards and im willing to pay for either one of those. for the cpu probebly no more than $250-300

Do you already have the CPU? If so keep it and use that extra money and get a 970 and then you will have a great card to go with a very decent CPU

Was also gonna say a 290 or a 290x would also be a decent GPU and then buy a SSD with the cash you save.

Keep the i7 anything less then a 4770k or a 4790k will be a downgrade. You can always watercool that CPU if you want but there isn't too much reason unless you live somewhere that hits 40c and above in summer like my place does.

If you do a custom loop just throw a CPU block on there anyway as it will look nice and perform well and you can always aim for a really quiet PC
