As a long-time player I'm actually excited to hear/see what they have planned next. With the recent leaks I've been even more curious and hyped up D:

Sure, the past couple of expansions haven't pleased everyone, but I for one enjoy every single piece of content and I'm fairly certain that Blizzard has learned from their past mistakes and have improved their planning and development strategies.

Unlikely. There's still ALOT of possible expansions, even if the game is 10 years old at this point.

Only judging by rumored expansions there's still room for another 10 years of content

Cool for WoW fans, never got into the game myself since I've been spoiled with GW2's theme and pay model. If they ever go subscription free then I wouldn't mind sinking some money into the game+expansion to get into another MMO.

 

Well on the other hand Blade & Soul is coming out this Winter...

Technically it's free to play now, since you can buy gametime with gold. It takes a bit to get the gold for the gametime token but it essentially negates the need to pay for a subscription every month

New expansion will hit in summer 2016 at the earliest, but most likely they'll keep their release timeline for autumn

Been playing off and on since late BC, still excited to see new content.

Can't wait to see. They've said that they wanted to release expansion packs more frequently already, so this is good. It would be nice if it would get released 6-9 months from now.

I'm more into PvP than PvE overall, but current exp, WoD, did so little about PvP that I know it won't change the slightest until new exp, so I'm pretty excited to see it.

The first three WOW games were good enough to ask for a monthly subscription.

 

Its a pretty weak game for quite a while now.

They only get away with NOT being totally free-2-play because they have so many people fucking enslaved to pixels.

Going to gamescom but I don't think i'll check it out, will try and check out TGT for hearthstone if they're there. There's the HTC vive, tomb raider, forza 6, MGS:V , quantum break, uncharted, ratchet and clank and loads more that I can't think of atm.

I quit right around the time Cataclysm came out but I sort of returned with a starter account when MoP was out, and honestly I liked the theme of MoP, whereas WoD was more so for those already at their level cap rather than really changing much. I do hope that this expansion is good because I have a level 43 Pandaren Monk (inactive because I haven't renewed my subscription and I don't quite have enough gold to pay for a 30 day subscription.) So yeah I've sort of returned but on a bit of a hiatus. WotL was pretty fun even though on my old account my highest was like a 46 Human Paladin.

I think a 2 year expansion frequency and dropping the subscription would be a great model for then to follow, as long as they stick to just as much content per expansion. Should being in a lot more players.

I played for 10 years.  Stopped after WoD was released.  Like two months after.  I'll go back when it is free to play like GW2, but that'll not be for a good two more years, so--GW2 it is!

Long time veteran as well.... was really disappointed with WoD so I am looking forward to a new expansion. I believe they will push this one out before the movie or right around the same time it comes out for maximum hype.

 

Its basically free to play now. As it stands I could buy 58 months worth of subs with in game currency. =/
