specs to start:

MSI KRAIT EDITION Z97s mobo.

EVGA GTX 970 FTW

I5-4690K @ 3.5

16 GB G.SKILL RAM

Windows 8.1

i am currently on nvidia driver 353.62.

so where to begin. lets start off bu saying i did not build my pc. i used cyberpower (yay overpriced). i am not too great with computers so when this happened i had no idea what to do. i have tried many different forums but no one seemed to want to help   :(  so im counting on you guys.

it all started this morning. i started up my computer from sleep mode. but instead of picking up where i left off it decided to do a small update (not sure if something happened here so im including it anyways) i booted up batman arkham night and instead of getting the usual average fps of 60+ i was getting around 15-20. at first i thought it might just be the game but i loaded up some other games and even in very low demanding games like heros & generals i was getting an unplayable 20 fps.

i tried un installing and reinstalling my drivers (ended up deleting my gpu from device manager....fail. i got that worked out though) but that didnt work either.

just to note, i opened up my bios and my cpu was at an idle temp of 40 c. but its usually at 30-35 c

i am clueless as to what i should do now and i would really appreciate any help given.

it would really suck if i typed this out just for no one to respond at all....

EDIT here is a monitor of my pc while playing batman http://imgur.com/yp7RbGL

here is it running the resident evil 6 benchmark on steam http://imgur.com/LdC1My4

still would be unplayable

just tried to play dirty bomb on the LOWEST settings and it was 100% unplayable

Batman is 30 fps right? I have not followed on that topic. It seems you a at a cap of 30 fps in batman. Seems right.

EDIT: Lol saw the red task bar at the 30 fps mark. I see it at 0 I had this issue but think what i did to solve it. Long time ago.

Try going back to an older driver. I see that that driver is relatively new so It could have installed automatically. Can you go back to anything before 353.62 and try?

I read this "NVIDIA has just rolled out a new driver version labeled 353.62. You can only get this though windows update it seems.

Run a clean driver install.

You'll want to download the latest driver package from Nvidia's website and put it somewhere convenient like on your desktop.  Then download "Display Driver Uninstaller" and follow the instructions to clean out your drivers. (Clean and restart is the ideal option)  Then when the computer restarts, install the new driver again.

Your Bus Interface Load is 0%.

Go into your BIOS and check your onboard device config.

Your main PCI Express Slot should be set to 16x.

In very rare cases, Programms can set this to default (1x)

Check that first.
