Another Windows 10 related question...

OrangeTrick

With all the questions about windows 10, I'm gonna keep mine short and simple. If I buy and install windows 8.1 after July 29, 2015, will I still be able to upgrade to windows 10 for free within a year of it releasing?

I don't know, but probably yes. Why would you do that? Just buy Windows 10.

Windows 10 is more expensive.

WHY?

I guess to see if it's worse or not? I have windows 10 on my laptop and its actually great, from a gaming perspective. I usually play dota on my laptop and usually dont run more than 40 fps even though it a low demanding game. Now i got the windows 10 it runs at 50 t 60 fps so yeah. Runs great in gaming so far.

not sure for others though

Yes....

I've been running Windows 10 on my HTPC without issues for 3-6 months and it's working beautifully on my desktop.

I'm kind of a noob here so could you answer this question? DX12 comes right away when you install windows 10, right?

DX12 is out but there aren't really any games that currently support DX12 so you'll need to wait for ones that do.

Lucky you i had it on my test rig and on a second ssd in my main rig both of which were running very unstable. I was running the beta every since it came out.

Quite a few cards support DX12 but only the 980ti and I think Titan X have full support for all the features.

I was also one of the lucky people who had no issues with windows 8 at launch.

"full features"

most of the features those cards support are useless or barely impact anything
