$450 First Gaming Build - Undecided

RUBIX3D

Hello everyone!

As the title suggest, I'm in the works of building my first PC for gaming. I have mostly everything I want already. But the biggest issue for me right now is finding the right graphics card that does what I want while staying relatively inside my budget. I'm somewhat willing to stretch it to $500 if need be.

Purpose:

I want to play games like Minecraft, Skyrim, Fallout 4, Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, Ark: Survival Evolved, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Borderlands 2, and Witcher III. Other than games, I also would love to live stream content, render/edit videos, and use dual monitors at some point.

FPS Goal:

I'm really just a casual gamer and don't need to see content at 4k to enjoy myself. At the moment I just want to game at 1080p or even 720p comfortably. Ideally I would like somewhere in the 60fps area on Medium to High settings, but 30fps is fine by me as well.

Future Plans:

As I mentioned earlier I would like to use two monitors at once at some point, so a graphics card that can handle that would be ideal. I also have a motherboard capable of CrossFire so finding a graphics card that is compatible with this feature would also be great ^^

Right now, the Radeon R7 260X is looking good in my eyes, but people who have more experience than I suggest other things because the R7 could potentially bottleneck the rest of my system in the future.

Here's my build so far. Feel free to give any comments, concerns, or criticism on how I can improve upon it.

Now is that $500 budget for the whole system or just the graphics card?

I would look for a better PSU. EVGA or XFX is on sale atm.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wyB6f7 Here I doubt I could squeeze any more power into this little buddy. If you wanna dump the extra money into a better lookin case by all means go for it. It Kindda turned into a black and white themed, ( wasn't intended but it somehow happened )

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yrCWsY Id spend the extra money in this, for the more reliable PSU. Yeah 750ws is insanely overkill but for $50 you can't go wrong, especially since it's made by SuperFlower.

Oh wow! Thanks for all the quick feedback everyone! I wasn't expecting to see so many posts so soon.

@Killervolt: An R9 270 does look like it would give me more bang for my back for just a little bit more money.

@OrangeTrick: Yes, its a $450-$500 for the whole build. I really don't have the money to invest that much into a single graphics card ^^;

@MrUnknownEMC: I did not know that! Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely keep it in mind.

@Thebman712, @DarkBlade2117, @Ramamataz: Whoah! I wish I had seen these builds before buying some of my parts. Hmmm it might not be too late to send them back for a full return. Thanks a bunch guys! Though, sorry to say Ramamataz that miiight be a bit too steep to me, but I'll consider it after weighing in everything else.

@grayblizzard: Well that's two in favor of that build. So I'll take your word for it.

Thanks again everyone for all your help! I greatly appreciate it!

Fix the tags for you ...

I would go with what Ramataz reccomend because you get mjore out of the CPU ...

... Life is a game and the checkpoints are your birthday , you will face challenges where you may not get rewarded afterwords but those are the challenges that help you improve yourself . Always live for tomorrow because you may never know when your game will be over ... I'm totally not going insane in anyway , shape or form ... I just have broken English and an open mind ...

I would agree with you but with an i3 op could easily upgrade to a 4690 or even a Xeon 1231 when he needed( like when he gets more money ).The 960 is still a top card for me atleast in the 1080p range and even with games that won't boot up without a quad core there are programs to make the game think the i3 is a quad core.
