Display Cropping Problem

Chris Minckler

Currently I am only using my on board CPU graphics (Intel HD 4600) while I wait for my GPU to arrive, and I am having issues with it because for whatever reason it is cropping out the edges of my display. I am not using an actual monitor, so I'm not sure if that could be part of the problem which it might. It is a Samsung 20" TV.

I have tried changing the display settings in the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel, and in the default display settings in the computers control panel. Neither of them have given me the option to re-size the display. The Intel Control Panel only gives me the "Maintain Display Settings" option, and the computers control panel doesn't give me any option to re-size at all, even in the advanced settings section.

So I am kind of at a loss as to what to do now. I am running Window 8.1 x64 so if you have any ideas or suggestions for what to do I'd really appreciate it. :)

In the intel driver you need to find a setting that is called scaling or overscan/underscan. TV's by default cut off the edges because they are stupid.

When in doubt, re-format.

That's what I was saying, under the scaling tab the only option it gives me is "Maintain Display Scaling". It won't let me change it to anything else.

Does the TV have an options menu? You need to find Scan Settings and change it to "just scan" or "1:1" or something like that.
