build confirmation, just to make sure im not doing something stupid

Ok this is just to REALLY make sure i dont do something stupid so please leave some feedback

ok so im going to upgrade my PC with some new gear so im also going to ask a lot of stupid questions and maby some not stupid ones

budget: about $600-$620ish

will be a gaming machine with some slight other stuff like sometimes some slight video edditing and game developnent in Unity game engine but mostly 1080p gaming

 

I WILL WANT TO OVERCLOCK SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE! REMEMBER THAT

 

here are my current specs:

proccesor: AMD FX-6300

grafics card: MSI OC GTX750TI

motherboard: some pice of absolute garbage

RAM: 1x8GB of hyperX memory

storage: 1x64GB SSD 1x1TB HDD(the hdd is a seagate one, a good one i think cant remember )

case: Zalman Z-machine GT1000

PSU: a cooler master 500W 80+ bronse one cant remember what its called

 

and this is what i think of upgrading too;

proccesor: Intel I5 4690K

grafics card: Gigabyte G1 gaming GTX970

motherboard: ASRock z97 anneversary

RAM: 1x8GB hyperX memmory

storage: 1x64GB SSD 1x1TB HDD

case: Zalman Z-machine GT1000

PSU: a cooler master 500W 80+ bronse one

ok now for all of the questions i have:

 

1: do i need more power? like a beafier PSU?

 

2: is there anything i can change whilst being in this budget?

 

3: seing as i have a K marked proccesor i will also in the future get an after market cooler, any suggestions?

 

4: i want a new SSD as my boot drive but seing as this 64GB one im using now hosts my OS i cant just change it so what do i do? i want a 120GB one because bigger than that is just plain to expensive

 

5: will i puch 60FPS in games like GTA-V and CS:GO with this computer?

 

6: shuld i get more RAM? chrome is one hungry pice of softwere..

 

7: this is ofc a gaming build but is there something i will miss seing as i will move from a 6 core proccesor to a 4 core one?

 

8: anything that is plain out a no no in this build like any potential bottle necks?

Its good if you are sure you can hold out with it until you swap board, but what you wrote about motherboard worries me cause if you buy a to shitty motherboard well. The CPU will be held back by the motherboard cause it cant handle the heat and power consumption...  (VRM is important!)

what, thats really not something that ever is a real problem as long as its z97, z97 is only for those who want to overclock so why should a z97 board then not be able to handle a non overclocked CPU? i dont get that logic, my current pice of shit mobo explodes and breaks if i want to overclock but a z97 surely should be able to handle normal use

Also you cannot use a Z97 board on FX-6300...

In that case the Z97 is fine! (also get a cheap ass one with the features you need)

I5 has been shown to be the best at gaming and as for a r9 390 or gtx 970 will max out every game at 1080p

Finally the psu is much more reliable

Also if you can afford it get the skylake 4690k version so you are not on a dead upgrade path

ok then 600 ish it is then im going to be waiting untill skylake so il probably have some more money by then to fit that to.

the cooler looks solid il consider it.

il probably get that SSD i have thought about getting that exact one but there not cheap.

the RAM upgrade i will probably wait with for a while but i will upgrade some time in the future.

good to know 4 cores are fine, just thinking in games like BeamNG.drive that 4 cores will be inferion seing as it uses one core per vehicle but i rarly have more than one because of the insaine LAG i get.

and that case looks awesome il think about it but i wont be getting that for now
