which fan/case w fan should I get for the best airflow?

404-USER-NOT-FOUND-ERROR

I spend ages trying to find some info, but all I can find is which case looks better and no reliable fan reviews.

linus reccomend nochua but there is a whole page of nochua fans: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/case-fan/#R=5,4,3&m=99&sort=a9&page=1

this is my build and I want my case to be atleast medium size so i can upgrade: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/LprCQ7

I need the fans to go in the same direction as my CPU cooler.

I also want my GPU to be cooled

air 540 with corsair sp 120 or 140mm fans

Why? The air 540 is good, but those fans don't make sense. He wants the fans for airflow, not for static pressure. Corsair fans are also not that good in general.

Front/side intakes should use SP fans and Top filtered exhausts should use SP fans also because you need pressure to move the air through the filters. Then the rear exhaust which is usually unfiltered use Airflow fans. To summerize, filtered fan mounts use SP fans and for unfiltered fan mounts use AF fans.

What would you suggest then if Corsair fans are not good? Not everyone can afford Noctuas.

Well first off, the air 540 comes with two fans of similar quality to the AF140s. Second, you still didn't explain the use of SP fans instead of AF fans. Finally, there is a reason that noctua fans cost more, they perform significantly better.

I just want fans that will decrease my temps of my components

I know, and the ones he was recommending wouldn't do that well. Get fans from noctua, be quiet, phanteks, cougar, or another fan company (there are others, but I can't think of them off the top of my head). Get the largest you can, and get an airflow based fan if there is an open area, and a static pressure focused fan if it will be no a radiator or by drive bays.

With any decent filters, you can use airflow optimized fans and be perfectly fine.

Only get those if you really like their aesthetics.

They are good fans for the price. Make sure you get the Air Series. You can get 2 of them compared to 1 Noctua fan.

They are ok fans, but there are better ones for the price. You can get a Be Quiet! Pure wings 2 14mm fan for $10, which is much better than the corsair fans in every way, besides possibly aesthetics. I'm not saying they're terrible fans, I even bought them for myself, but you need to keep in mind that there are better options if you don't care about aesthetics.

You posted that video, but it really doesn't matter for this situation. That didn't even include GPU temps with a non-reference cooler, which OP is planning on doing.

Besides a few exceptions, they will come with your case. They need to be fit to the case properly, so generally they are built in. You can get ones for single fans, but these aren't quite as good. Silverstone makes some decent aftermarket fan filters, including this one.

I don't get why corsair or noctua are the go to options depending on budget. What about Cougars, or air penetrators, phanteks, spectre pros, NZXT, Fractal Design, i mean, fans are probably the most varied PC component, i got 3 different brands of fans for my case, simply because i wanted focused airflow on the front, high SP on the rad and quiet airflow on the top. There are so many options, some cheaper and better depending on the scenario than corsair. I kinda hate corsair for coining the terms AF and SP fans, good fans are balanced, and many times cheaper than corsairs.

I like magnetic filters, silverstone makes decent ones.

Case...for more budgeted minded i like the NZXT S340, honestly has enough features for most enthusiasts. If you can spend more, fractal design R5, NZXT H440, Phanteks Enthoo series, and most of those cases come with fan filters by the way.

And fans...sooooo many options, you can control any fan nowadays, motherboard software is the easiest way, but i can't tell you what fans to buy without knowing what case you're getting and what are you using them for. Front and side intake, air penetrators are excelent, specially for GPU cooling. Rear exhaust doesn't matter much, just something decent and quiet, most cases have an included fan there. Like that, but just, there is more than corsair and noctua, nothing bad about them in particular, simply there are a ton of options

magnetics are like fridge magnets, just very simple to install, but if you get a case with filters no need to buy them, and most mid-high end cases are filtered on front, bottom and top.
