Building a portable side rig. Help with compatability please.

At the moment I have never built a PC. I bought a Chillblast a couple of years ago for a desktop. My laptop though, what I use for portable gaming when I go round friends can no longer run much more than doom. I saw the Silverstone Sugo video and though I could stick a screen on the front and bam it's portable, that seems like it will work from what I've worked out. The problem is that I dont know about compatability issues. I spotted yesterday that I had a DDR2 graphics card in a DDR3 motherboard and that's just made me worry. Please help. Here are the specs;

Case: SilverStone 12050 Sugo Case, £40

Graphics card: EVGA GT 610 2GB DDR3 VGA DVI HDMI

Monitor: 10 Inch Car Digital LCD Screen VGA

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CXM 500W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze

Motherboard: MSI AM1I Socket AM1

CPU: AMD APU Athlon 5350 Quad Core Processor

Fan: Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM Slim

RAM: HyperX FURY Series 4GB DDR3 1600MHz

HDD: 500GB SATA 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive

WIFI Card: Tenda W322P WIRELESS

Thermal Paste: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound

I need to keep it all around the £350 or $500US mark.

If there is a cheap upgrade I could make, please help.

750ti or something like that,  a 610 is not a gaming card, heck I have a 620 in my office PC

It will get about 5fps in games

The 610 is a very old graphics card and will be a really bad choice for the computer. Get a 750 or preferably a 750 ti.

If you can wait maybe a month or two for the 950 or 950 ti to come out, that would be your best option.

How would a 740 fair. In my desktop right now I have a 650 Ti boost but I cant seem to find that anywhere. I would be getting the PC more towards Xmas so i can wait. What would the benefit of 950 over the 750 be?

I have found a 650 2GB that would be more in my price range, would that work or is the boost important. I am able to play most games at high at 30FPS and medium with some tinkering at 60FPS.

I'm also getting confused at all the different makes of Nvidea cards. There's Vamery and EVGA and MSI and all these others. Is there any difference or is it just looks?

Just get a case where you can easily access the GPU so you can just swap the GPU between your computers

G3258 @ 4.5 | 8GB Team Vulcan RAM | 128GB Kingston V300 SSD (I didn't know what I was doing when I bought it) | MSI H81I Motherboard | Corsair H55 with Noctua NF-P12 | EVGA SSC GTX 960 4GB | OCZ 550W Fully Modular PSU with Noctua NF-A14 | Cooler Master Elite 130 (Soon to be something cool)

The whole point of this is the portability. The design is build around the case. I also don't really want the fuss of that.

Ok, I just suggest that because it would be worth it to me... The sg13 would probably be easy enough anyways

Actually, my desktop tower has the graphics card buried and to the non remove-able side. So that wouldn't have been an option from that perspective. Thanks anyway.
