So.... I got impatient and installed Windows 10 via the media creation tool on the Microsoft website and after installation it says my Windows isn't activated and so I went to the Store and it doesnt say I own a license.... Should I quickly reinstall W8 so I can get the upgrade or am I fucked?

You first need to activate it with upgrade thing while w8 is installed. Than you can use that same code to reinstall.

BTW guys I think my W8 key isn't genuine, I bought it off ebay for $30 so... Will I have issues with W10?

If it's not genuine then it probably will have issues.

That's probably your issue, I did the same thing to upgrade and had no issues. Your copy is probably illegitimate and therefore you got an illegitimate copy of Win 10. You can still however get a cheap copy of Windows 8 and upgrade like that. That's probably a lot cheaper than buying Windows 10.
