Alright, once and for All, i need to know this.

Lately, jayztwocents have been posting a log (or two) with a amd cpu base system.

He told that the fx8300 is the most bang for the buck cpu. Should i run with it for my 780ti?

I dont want answer like "no" i want answers where you argument for either yes or no.

If you're on a constantly tight budget and can't afford going intel the FX8300 or FX8350 are viable (despite what everyone will go on and say). Sure, you might not get the same performance you'd get from intel CPUs, but the price/performance ratio is good.

yeah, you should run the fx8300 if you don't have cash to go intel.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

If i were going to go intel, i would have been going with a i5-4460. And if im going to go amd, i will be overclocking.

For gaming? NO! In games it is equal to haswell i3

the 8xxx and 9xxx fx chips work fine, just not amazing.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. if you can afford an i5, go with that. try to get a K version so you can OC that though.

They are fine but in most games i3 is still better and you can get i5 for that price, especially since H81 boards are basically free :D

I have heard before that once you have a powerful cpu you will almost not have to buy a New later at all. Is that right?

well, you normally end up rebuilding with a new MB/CPU or if you can hold on a bit longer you end up upgrading the CPU for the same socket type a few years down the road.

 

i build a AM3+ socket rig with a 1090T about 5 years ago and just recently upgraded to a FX9590. in that time i bought 5 GPUs.

well, it kept my gtx980s from bottlenecking super hard. and it saved me from having to buy a whole new MB and CPU, so yeah.
