Best possible upgrade I could get for my current rig?

dZt NA

Budget: ~$1,800

What is the best possible upgrade I could get for my current rig:

CPU: i5-4690K

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X41

Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition

Memory: HyperX Fury 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3-1866

SSD: HyperX Fury 120GB

HDD: WD Black 1TB

GPU: Gigabyte R9 270

Case: NZXT H440 (White/Black)

PSU: Corsair CS550M 80+ Gold

Monitor: ASUS VX248H 24" 1080p 60Hz

Things I would prefer to keep:

-CPU Cooler

-SSD

-HDD

-Case

-PSU

Things I prioritize:

-GPU

-27" 1440p IPS (120 or 144Hz) Monitor (I plan to go dual monitors)

-16 or 32GB of RAM with speed no lower than 1866

- Not sure if I should switch the i5 out for an i7-4790K

- All parts that are switched out will go towards building a media PC.

- I am pretty picky about how my system looks so I prefer that the parts follow the black and white theme.

- Thinking about maybe some Nocuta fans (preferably the black ones) for case/radiator (using stock ones)

- White LED Strips?

Suggestions?

Maybe add an extra 8gbs of ram too if you can afford it, if you like the extra headroom in your PC.

(above 16gb is overkill unless you plan to do serious rendering and video editing)

i think the most i've ever used was 7gbs and that was having 15 tabs open and playing bf4

I have used over 8 gigs of ram easily before just by having a game or two open in the background and using chrome and some other programs

Hey dZt NA,

Gaming and editing can benefit from a new GPU, more memory and a larger SSD (more demanding applications and games to put there).
WD Black is a good performance drive, but you could really benefit from a larger SSD if you put the editing program and the files that you are working with on it as well as some games that have longer times or are open world (load huge texture packs while in-game).

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
