250 GB SSD

Please use PCPartPicker, as many people on this site use that a lot.

 

But get a 250gb SSD if you can, the extra space really helps, and also maybe get a larger power supply for future upgrades and lots of overclocking availability.

I would say if you have more money get a good CPU cooler like the Cooler Master Hypo 212 Evo for overclocking purposes. Also you might want to considera better power supply like a 80+ gold certified such as the Corsair RM550. But other than that the build is pretty good

What resolution are you going to be using? As in your monitor? 1440p and up, I would recommend the r9 390 from Sapphire.

Also, I would suggest a SeaSonic PSU. Those almost always have great build quality and performance. You will have a completely reliable PSU with one of those.

I would say to get a 390 instead of the 970, it is not bad at all it beats the 970 if you don't overclock and if you are lucky if it is overclocked.

Go with an 4460 and not the 4690K, and get an H97  motherboard, get a Hyper 212 EVO or watercool it if you can and maybe get a 550-600W power supply

If you do not intend to overclock then this.  Not much benefit for the added expense of an unlocked CPU and Z97 MoBo.

 

If overclocking is an option then you need to get a decent aftermarket cooler.  Evo 212 minimum.

GTX 980 is a waste, get either 970 or 980 Ti

Just out of curiosity, why don't you buy used and have it shipped? You could get everything you just listed, replace the Z97/90K with a Z87/70K and get it all with a 650 or 750W Gold PSU for like $600, minus GPU. Then you'd have enough money for a 980TI.
