[Mini-News] Twitch Leaving Adobe (And Flash Altogether)!

MDPS

Why do you think that?

Because in general Open Source communities are full of people that never really make any progress or set a clear and defined goal. Kinda why Linux is still non-existent.

Holy crap. I can't believe you just said that.

Linux is huge. It completely dominates all markets except the desktop and laptop market.

Do you even know how open source projects work? It's not like Adobe would just release the source code in a .TXT file and then everyone would make all the changes they want. They would put it up on for example github and then people would make pull requests and forks. Adobe would still be in full control over what direction the program was heading. If someone had another goal in mind then they would fork it and work towards that. If Adobe likes what the other person does then they could incorporate some or all of the changes into the main branch.

Adobe could even decide to make it open source and then continue developing Flash with the exact same people who already does it, with the exact same goals as they already have, and without accepting any of the code submissions other people make. It would change literally nothing in how Flash is and is being developed today. What would change from that however is that things such as Shumway could get huge performance boosts since the developers of that would get a far better understanding of how Flash works and maybe even Incorporate some of the original Flash code into Shumway.

I suggest you do some research about subjects before talking about them.

..k

I stand by what I said. I know how big Linux is, but as for consumer adoption it's actually a bit of a joke. I also know how open source projects work. But as for going back and forth on this, nah, no thanks.

Why poll

its obs html 5 is better.

shutting flash is a long term project.

All flash updates are security now adays anyway

minus the fact OBS is missing features that Xsplit has...... so no, you are stating your opinion, not fact. hell I can't even get OBS to recognize an open window as even existing at times.
