Weird cracking noise coming from mobo after heating up or cool down.

Hello. I have a problem. When pc is heating up or when cool down i get weird cracking noise coming from mobo.

What can it be? Heatsing , plastic noise?

I would check the mounting screws on the back of the heatsink and make sure they are tight and not loose maybe expansion and contraction is causing it but hard to say and it would be fairly strange.

I've never heard it before on a mobo, but when metal heats up it expands, which can cause some cracking noises. But like I said, never heard it on a motherboard so I don't know if it is a bad thing or not.

Have a feel around to see how hot it is getting. Are you using a normal heatsink/fan on your CPU? If you're using a watercooler, the lack of air flow MIGHT be causing those components to get a bit hot - only guessing, though.

yes i am using normal heatsing fan on cpu and stock box cooler 4790k
