OnePlus 2 launch thread

Aniallation

Thanks for tuning in! That was rather short

Download the app and try out the cool 360 degree view!

We highly recommend using Cardboard, as it will add to the experience in significant ways. If you missed out on our Cardboard giveaway, you can try making your own or buying one from somewhere else. But if you simply find yourself Cardboard-less on July 27th, don’t despair! We’ve also built a Cardboard-free 360 experience, right into our launch app. It won’t be as immersive, but it will still be interactive and amazing.

Update 1 - official specs confirmed:

Snapdragon 810 v2.1 CPU

4GB DDR4 RAM

5.5" 1080p display

3300mAh battery

4G LTE with dual SIM

CK98HtrVEAAxyE0.png

Thank you OnePlus for knowing that 1080p in mobile is already the sweet spot and 1440p just impacts performance and battery life. At 5.5" a good 1080p is definitely preferred over a crappy 1440p.

OnePlus claims their In-Cell display is the brightest of any current flagship.

Update 3 - 13MP camera with OIS and laser focus

"0.3 second focus times"

Update 4 - dedicated switch for sound mode "Alert Slider":

iPhone, anyone?

Update 5:

"OxygenOS is not pure Android - we’ve made some subtle changes, but features that add real value to the user experience."

Update 6:

August 11th release date for North America, Europe, and India

Update 7 - Price:

Not bad.

There's an invite system again, but it supposedly won't be anywhere near as hard to get an invite as last time, since they're producing these in much larger numbers at launch.

I like mine. Honestly the lack of apps doesn't bother me since I've got an iPad 2. It's really simple to use and the phone was $45 w/ contract.

Good. The old system sucked.

Here's a couple

Snapdragon 810 with a revision to prevent overheating

Fingerprint scanner similar to Samsung's system, on the home button.

Same 5.5 inch screen, but upscaled to 2560x1440, like the G3/G4

13MP rear camera, 8MP front.

That's all i know off the top of my head.

I'm buying one in August. My S3's lock button is broken and I'm too lazy to reflow a new one on, and my S5 is bent at a 165 degree angle after falling down a flight of stairs in my back pocket.
