What chair should I get?

Lawkodi

I have been looking into the dxracer king series. It looks nice but Linus also gave good reviews for maxnomic. I am 5'11" about about 230 pounds. So should I go dxracer, maxnomic, or other? My budget is 500$ or less.

Just get a chair from Ikea or a Furniture place. You are paying for the brand and the looks on these chairs

Best for the budget

"Gaming" chairs are overpriced IMO just like any "gamer" series

DXRacer M-Series.

D-Series if you don't want the more adjustable arms and a less firm/dense sponge seat.

Classic series looks good too if you want that one without the "Racing" look.

Ask yourself - Do you really need a 400€ chair?

Yes, I sit for 10+ hours a day at my computer.

I have had multiple cheaper chairs, they either break, hurt my back, or just suck. I am done with them.

Why the M and not the King? The king seems to be more for my size.

I do not have 1200$. I have less than 500$ to spend on a chair. And while yes if I had the money I would immediately jump on the aeron or embody I just dont have money.

I had the same problem until I just forked out the money for an aeron. It's a worthwhile investment and has a warranty up to 12 years which you might never need to use since it's durable as hell. If you sit on a chair for as long as I do daily, then ergonomic is most important and the aeron is top notch in that regard, which I and many other can vouch for.

I know I want the aeron so bad... but... I just don't have the extra 300 for it...

Why the M and not the King? The king seems to be more for my size.

longer seat and the padding is more dense then most of the other chairs they offer.

M-series tends to be big enough for anyone 5' 8" to 6' up to 330 lbs IIRC.  King is for those that are taller and/or heavier then that.

Its also $30 cheaper.

If you haven't already just email them questions about which is for your size and height.

They had pretty good Customer Support when I got mine last year around this time.  Back then their website looked sketchy, now its all professional.

Do yourself and your body a favour and get yourself a Herman Miller Aeron.

This chair will last you for years and it comes with a 12 year warranty and an epic customer service!

The price depends on your location, so if a new one is over your budget find a secondhand one.

Here where I live secondhand Aerons is mostly small companies selling out for various reasons, so the chair is like new.

NAS build log: Gimli, a NAS build by Shaqalac.

Mechanical keyboards: Ducky Mini YotH - Ducky Mini

A chair is an important part of your rig.  It's like your mattress in that you spend a lot of time in it so it's worth spending a little money - your back will thank you later...

I just picked up a Herman Miller used off craigslist for $300.  They are usually available in big cities second hand and they are great.

You should just get a simple, comfy chair from someplace like Staples, or OfficeMax. If back support is needed, get a pillow/cushion from Wal-Mart and a bungee cord to hold it in place.

I just solved your chair situation for ~$200 USA.

Done that probably 4 times now. The chair usually breaks within a year and my back hurts horribly. And on top of that it sticks to my skin like crazy. As said before Fuck no to cheap chairs.

See I want an Aeron but 1. I dont know if I trust used. 2. I don't know if its actually good, it looks to be majorly plastic. It seems just like a whole bunch of hoopla.

Have you tried a high quality mesh chair? I sat in one at Staples for a good hour, it leaned back good enough to where I could fall asleep in it and on hot days you don't find yourself getting hot and sweaty from them. I wish I could of got,it but I don't wanna fork out $200 for a chair until I atleast get my rig and desk first.
