Looking for a 27in 1440p IPS Monitor

MikRED97
Go to solution Solved by KamiKatze,

I'm looking for a 27in 1440p IPS Monitor with a VESA compatible mount.

60Hz refresh rate is fine and I have a Budget of $450. I'm running with a 4770k and a GTX 770 4gb

Right now I'm looking at the Asus PB278Q and the BenQ GW2765HT

If you could link a Pcpartpicker link for it that would be awesome.

So, what's the question? Both are good monitors. I can personally recommend the Asus monitor, i have it, it's great.

1440p and a GTX 770? Erm might wanna use that $450 for a 390x unless I under estimate the power of a GTX 770

I just picked up the Qnix QX2710 and have had no issues so far. I even got it overclocked to 115Hz.

the ASUS one works well for me, for AAA games youll need a bit more then a 770 though

The Asus is 144Hz right? EDIT: Oops it is not :P

If you are fine with lowering settings it will work. I tried OC and downsampling and I turned out to be moderately enjoyable but not constant 60fps enjoyable so... be ready. The 2GB i have were no problem with 1440p but your 4gb might come in handy later.

This is MUCH better than both at only $50 more and it's a huge discount now http://pcpartpicker.com/part/lg-monitor-27mb85rb

Also dont be discouraged to get 1440p with a GTX770 , i have a 760 and i can run most games well on it

Take a look at this to convince yourself or check other monitors out  http://wecravegamestoo.com/forums/monitor-reviews-discussion/15027-best-27-2560x1440p-monitors-ahva-ips-pls.html#post1219700

May I ask, why is it 'MUCH' better than the Asus PB278Q, what would you say makes the LG worth spending the extra $50 $100 more?

DarkBlade I am aware that I won't be able to run at max settings. I just want a better display. Right now I'm running 2 Asus VS247H-P and I wanted a better single display because I won't have room in my dorm for more than one. And to address getting a new graphics card I don't see the purpose now because I'd rather wait until the next line of Geforce cards roll out to get a new one because the 770 serves its purpose well right now.

Thanks KamiKatze I think I'll probably going with the Asus monitor I currently have 2 Asus panels and they have served me well so far.

The 27MB85R-B is the best since it can be hardware calibrated (colour corrections are saved internally and can not be reset by the video card or games), has a matte grey bezel which vastly increases the perceived black depth, negligible input lag, very fast pixel response times and excellent colour presets. The 2014 edition of the PB278Q has a matte black bezel which ruins the perceived black depth when the monitor is not placed in a very bright room, and awful colours and contrast when the colour controls are unlocked.
