Opinions on unknown TV brand: Changhong

So my 37" 720p Sharp Aquos LCD TV died as of yesterday :(. I'm now looking to buy a new one and upgrade to a slightly larger screen and resolution, 40" 1080 LED TV. I was thinking about going 4K months before my TV died, but I've decided not to, since 1080p still works for me even though I've seen 4K in person. So to the point, I'm currently thinking about getting this LED TV from an unknown or not-so-well known brand in the US which is the Changhong LED40YD1100UA. Video reviews for this model are scarce online as supposed to written reviews. The TV will mainly be for watching basic cable (on air), netflix and a bit of gaming, but I game more on my PC than on my console. My main gripe is the brand since I've never heard of it before. My budget is around $250. Suggestions are welcome, but I would like to hear more opinions on this TV brand. What do you guys think, should I pull the trigger and buy it? Thanks :).

They're unknown, no opinions, if you want to take the risk then go for it! Fun fact they make batteries mainly and one of their major contracts is providing batteries for the Chinese Multi-Role fighter the Chengdu J-10  :D

Changhong is a fairly big TV brand in China. Hisense, Skyworth, TCL, Konka and Haier are the other major Chinese brands. Most of their products are aimed towards the value end, however. They rarely have the refinement of the established marques, but they have excellent pricing for the feature-set.

Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi and Meizu are big in China too, I was referring to the lack of western presence! Although Haier are more common here in Europe and I've seen tons of Hisense branding in industrial environments.

Changhong is actually a panel manufacturer so their panels are great however they do lack features and a good menu layout. I would recommend them if you just want a cheap but nice looking TV.

If their panels are great, does that also mean great/good picture quality even while lacking features?
