PA 279Q Freeze

Not sure if this is the right place -new to the forum- but having a problem with my Asus PA 279q monitor.

 

Have had it for about a year an 3 months now and it's always worked great with displayport. However, ever since I had it, it's always had a problem with my ps4 on HDMI. After a while of gaming the screen would suddenly have colored vertical lines and dots and dashes everywhere with patches of color. Much like when your old pc would freeze in a purple and green static noise mess. 

 

The difference here is that the screen won't "freeze" per se and I could still use the ps4 enough to shut down the console. However, pressing the button to turn the screen off does nothing at this point and neither does switching the input. The only thing that works is unplugging the monitor. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?
