CSGO resolution and the effect it has on your gameplay?

kipper

Recently i decided to play in a 4:3 resolution stretched, not due to the fatter models, but because my display does 75hz at that resolution.

At 1080p it's clearer and things are the correct aspect ratio, but it is not even close to as fluid at 75hz.

I am able to pull off AWP shot's with ease with the higher refresh rate.

Overclock your monitor to 75 Hz @ 1080p and best of both worlds?

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

This is using just an AWP and not even camping up spots..

This pic is from a different thread wondering why CSGO put's me on USA servers, but i found it's helping me tune my reactions.. i have now become faster because the latency difference is pretty damn big!

It probably puts you on US servers because your max acceptable ping is really high. Set it to like 70 and you should be good

Life.exe is missing

I have no experience of CS:GO at lower than 120hz, and I have no plan on doing so. I play at 1280x960 (4:3 stretched). Though I used to play 4:3 none stretched too. It's all preference too, so whatever you're most comfortable at.

I can get the same FPS whether I have a low resolution or play at native, so that's not a factor for me. However, yes, you'll be more accurate if you're able to see more frames. As for playing on a high ping server. You've also got to remember that you have peeker's advantage. You will see them long before they see you IF you peek. If they peek you, however, it's the other way round, of course, so AWPing is easier for more of an aggressive play style than in lower pinged servers. Although, you'll find yourself getting better in NA servers, but when you return to low ping, you'll underperform as the registration will be faster and you wont have as much of a peekers advantage. It's always better to play at low ping and adapt to high ping when needs be.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

If you played 1.6 on a 4:3 monitor then 4:3 will seem normal. For everyone else who is experienced and find 16:9 normal just stick with it. I have spent the last 5 years gaming at 1080p and I intend to stick with it until I see a reason to upgrade.

It's preference, you'll find the reason some of us play with black bars (4:3) is because we are used to Cs 1.6, and personally i find 4:3 stretched a lot easier to aim as it makes things that little bit bigger. Now of course things like that wlll effect how your sens/dpi works, but nothing will make you better or worse.

I play @ 144hz 4:3 1280x1024 ( I have a 16:9 1080p monitor )

Of course you notice a difference when there's a higher refresh rate. The higher the better of course.

Resolution is another thing. That's just preference, nothing more. Some people will say 4:3 stretched is much better than 16:9 1080p. It's not.

Yes, it makes enemies fatter, but you also have less FOV,...

The only reason people say 4:3 stretched is better, is because a lot of pro's use this. They only do this to get the max amount of FPS, and pretty much all of them are just used to it from CS:S and 1.6.
