Hey i was thinking of buying a ps4 and i was wondering if you have pay to play multiplayer or still like ps3 when you can play online free !??

You now have to buy PS+ to be able to play online with your friends, or online with anyone for that matter, it's like £50 £40 for a year I think.

Some games have a couple free multiplayer modes, they run some "free multiplayer weekends" for those w/o PS+.

 

But overall, you'll wanna buy PS+.

 

Just buy a long subscription and forget about it. It's great - multiplayer access, and a LOT of free games for PS3, PS4, and PSVita. Totally worth it, IMO!

You have to pay 50 euro's per year (I bought it for 37 euro's) and you get 6 games every month for that little payment. 2 ps3 games 2 ps4 games and 2 ps vita games. This month for example you got rocket league on launch day for "free" with ps plus. It costs me roughly 4 euro's per month so that is 1/4 the price of the full game, and I got 5 other games with it. If you look at it that way it isnt too bad is it?

I would rather pay for ps plus then xbox live, just because you get more quality games with ps plus

You have to pay for online but it means better servers and free games just pay yearly

It costs money now for PS4. Now that you need to pay to play online, the servers are worse than before. Always down at least once a week it seems.
