Every component has been replaced exactly the same number of times, except hard drives. I've upgraded to increased capacity one more time than I have anything else in my system.

Current System: Corsair Graphite 760T White/ Asus X99-S / Intel Core i7 5820K / Corsair H100i GTX / EVGA Titan X SuperClocked / HyperX Fury 4x8GB 2666mhz DDR4/ Corsair AX1500i / Intel 750 PCIe SSD 400gb / Samsung Evo 840 500gb / WD Green 4TB x2 / WD Green 3TB /  OCZ Agility 3 120gb

i always need more storage.

i've upgraded CPUs, GPUs, and RAM twice

replaced MoBos thrice because elite group sucks and i'm with ASUS now.

i have swapped cases twice and settled on a 900D for future casing benefits.

havent swapped PSUs in like 6 or 7 years.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I totally upgrade my optical drive all the time

I thought the optical drive market/developement  was fairly stagnant .

I still installed one, many don't, use it once in a blue moon but it's handy to have if I ever need it.  Thinking (seriously) about a USB external drive next time and freeing up the space [makes for easier cable management too] but it was  the cheapest availlable (£12 or so Amazon/ebay/local shop sale or somesuch can't really remember).

Same, dude. Sold my consoles for a nice GPU, even if my power supply isn't fully capable for it (using 4 molex adapters).

Had my PC for +5 years

  • changed cpu/ram x1 (i7 920 > Xeon 5670)
  • changed primary drive x3 (WD Black > patriot junk SSD > Samsung 840 evo SSD)
  • just changed gpu for the 4th time (280 > 570 > 780 > SLI 980ti)

I was thinking about this the other day, the only thing that is left standing from the original build is the motherboard, noctua cpu cooler & WD Black (which is now a secondary).

  • 2 weeks later...

I've upgraded my GPU from an Asus GT520 to a Powercolor PCS+ R9 270X and then I won a Powercolor TurboDuo R9 285 which I won :)

I also upgraded my 500GB HDD to a 256GB Plextor M6pro and a WD Caviar Blue 1TB

I voted for optical drive since all of the USB portable optical drives I buy keep dying within 3-5 months of purchase. Most other components I tend to stick with for 2-5 years.

I haven't really replaced anything since I got my PC...

I've added stuff, but not replaced.... Unless we count the fact that I changed the case, once, 3 years ago, from a HAF 932 to a HAF 912.(smaller size was required)

Oh and the GPU, yesterday, changed my 5870 to a friend's 7970, he said it wasn't working, I plug it in, working perfectly, passes all the benchmark and even specialized tests that I got from my last job... so got that for free, yay~ He might be asking for it back though, so I'm not counting it.

Hdd/SSD. Started with one drive, now I have 2 SSDs (120GB and 480GB) + 250GB SSD upgrade for laptop, and 2 HDDs (1TB and 3TB).

For some reason I can't not have more drives.

I don't do signatures.
