Lga 1151 cooling compatibility

Rychill
Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

ALL 115X CPU sockets are physically the same

coolers that work on 1150/55/56 will work on 1151

So im making a new build and its going to be using the new skylake cpu's...BUT i was wondering if current cpu coolers that are lga 1150 compatible would be compatible with this new socket. Im not sure if any info on this has already been released and I haven't seen it or if nothing on this exists. I was looking at some mobo's that were showcased at computex and at closer inspection the the two sockets look pretty much identical so im really hoping that they will be.

I appreciate any help, thanks.

Intel using a different mounting solution would probably piss off alot of aftermarket cpu cooler companies. Thank god the mounts havent differed in a long time.
