How do you install a lens hood?

its the EFS 18-55mm Image Stabilizer Micro 0.25m/0.8ft

 

Thats not the full name it still could be one of these three lenses

And the EW-60C doesnt fit on the last one. As far as I can tell from your picture you are having the last one.

Okay, so i have a 700D that I've bought a long time ago, and I've recently gotten into photography and such, so i went ahead and bought a lens hood and a UV filter for my 700D kit lens the 18-55mm lens

I've had an issue with installing the lens hood on the lens, it doesn't work, I tried to turn it into place, that didn't work, i tried to snap it, that didn't work

 

I have the Phottix EW-60C lens hood btw

 

please help

Which 18-55mm lens is it? There are about 5 versions.

The most recent one the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM needs the EW-63C
