$1500 gaming laptop

Mandrew

So my friend is looking for a gaming laptop dor school/home. His budget is $1500 but the cheaper the better. He would like it around 1 inch thick or less. He will be playing games like skyrim and GTA5. I chose this out for him http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=34-152-818. Is that the best for what he is doing?

That laptop runs a little hot I was able to get an asus G751JT for 1299.00 and I love it... It plays GTA V like a champ on my 1440p 32inch BenQ BL3200BT

the 970m is a solid card, so it should be great for stuff like gta and skyrim.

While the gs series might be more visually pleasing, it will come at a price premimum...

I don't think he minds, he just doesn't want something that looks completely terrible

I enjoy playing games like GTA V and NFS  on my system with specifications-1440p 32inch BenQ BL3200BT. It plays like a console. graphic is mint and processor runs well. no breaking or slowness in movement .

Hi I'm too looking for a nice gaming notebook around that price, but before seeing this topic I thought that you had to spend at least a good 2000€/$ on it to be a good pc.

That fang book looks amazing though! I was thinking: do you think it's worth it to spend a bit more to put in some SSD? :)

I would recommend asus rog model like GL551JW since from my experience it run very cool and quiet. (I have and older model which sport i5 and gtx 760m)

i don't know about the older versions, but from the reviews i have seen some the newer asus laptops have some reliability issues

ohh that's a bummer. but then I would recommend lenovo y50 or y70. and I use the g56jr (older model of GL551JW) and I use it for 3 years now and so far from my experience it's still okay.
