Star Citizen Singleplayer

Vivilacqua1
Go to solution Solved by Grrizz,

Squadron 42 is said to be 40-60 hours if you play it like an RPG (i.e. explore) IIRC with it being divided into 3 episodes, one due towards the end of this year (comes in the game packages) and each subsequent one a year after the other. It is said to be done like reading a diary so you don't have to play it right away if you want to go straight to the PU (alpha tentatively due end of the year, full release maybe end of next year). You aren't the saviour of the universe in the story you are just involved in some of the major events so it shouldn't matter if you play the story after the PU as the main universe/history shaping characters aren't you, you might have just served with them or been a part of their campaigns.

If you mean the tutorial, that's ~30mins IIRC, worth doing to get your bearings IMO.

Hello, I am currently downloading SC, and am wondering about how long the story mode is or if I should just skip it and play online at the start. Would it be beneficial to play the story mode first? Thanks!

Story mode will carry on to online from what I understand. You can skip it but there will be benefits like pay from doing the story.

Do you realize that it is not out yet and neither is online?

Star citizen is ping to have a story mode?

Dats cool.

Fam.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

what everyone else said, I might have read more about star citizen before buying into it myself but the arena commander mode is fun.

I'm afraid you jumped ship (hehehe) a little bit uninformed there. As it stands now, Star Citizen has no single player campaign yet, it is still under development and will be for at least the end of this year (when it is speculated that the first episode will be released).

It's good that you're downloading the game now, but the only playable 'module' at this moment is the dogfighting one; Arena Commander. Here you can fly your ship, if it is flyable, in a simulation.

What is the package you ended up with? :)

I got the Auroura LN package for about $45, can barely wait till the end of the year. Gives me time to learn how to fly though!

I'm pretty sure that CIG has stepped away from giving estimations or release dates unless they are absolutely 100% sure (and satisfied with the result) that it is ready to launch.

Best is to keep an eye out to the RSI website and the Star Citizen YouTube channel to keep informed.

Chris talked about it on last weeks 10 for the chairman and having a guess I would say October/December but as he says "don't hold me to to it!", they've got to be happy with AC 2.0 and and star marine as they are essential to squadron 42 and once that's done the game should start falling into place

Cool thanks. I sometimes check out the RSI website and forums but find relatively less info or discussion about the upcoming singleplayer game. I'm waiting for squadron42 to jump into star citizen. Haven't pledged or played the alpha modules as I want to keep it fresh and jump into the campaign and singleplayer story.

I also think the release of part 1 of squadron 42 will shut up the critics who think that this is just a scam and vaporware. It doesn't matter if they delay it a few months but by 2nd quarter 2016 if it's still not out then people will get itchy (understandably).
