The Game of Your Childhood

Legend932

Hello LTT!
So I have a story to tell:

A long time ago, Little Legend got a Gameboy Advance (emulator) , and with it he got a little game called Harvest Moon: Friends of mineral town.

Little Legend loved that game more than anything his young eyes could see, many hours, days, and weeks were lost to that game.
He played and played, he could never get to the end sadly, Little Legend's young mind (with his terrible english) couldn't finish that little game.

Then sometime later, Little Legend's uncle got an XBOX, with it came a little game called Halo:Combat Evolved, with 4 controllers, 4 eager cousins and one CRT television, it was a blast everyone loved it.

Little Legend memorized the Blood Gulch map, from the Red base to the Blue base. From the sniper rifle on the cliffs to the rocket launcher near the caves
Little Legend finished Halo:CE on Legendary (hardest) difficulty. Little Legend was proud of himself

A while later, Little Legend installed a little game called Age of Empires 2

And throughout 4th to 6th grade, that was his game of choice to play,
Until he got Age of Empires 3

Little Legend's little mind was blown by that game, ''wow it looks so good!'' Little Legend said, "soldiers get in formations!, this game is awesome!'' he thought, the path finding in both games was terrible, but Little Legend didn't care, Little Legend enjoyed those games for a great many years.
I made this little story because i couldnt decide on 1 game to award it with ''the game of my childhood'' so please feel free to post more than 1 game : )
(i couldnt come up with an ending so story is TO BE CONTINUED, ON INDEFINITE HOLD)

My question is this, what was the game of your childhood?

tried to break up the chunks of text with a few pictures to make it look nice, hope my attempt was successful ;p

UPDATE Thanks everyone for posting, i was hoping to see more stories, come on guys post more stories! : D

UPDATE Edited the post and it broke, :/ fixed it though :  D i did my best, note to self, keep a backup copy of your posts before editing them.

SSX Tricky/3, Tekken 3/Tag/4, DDR (the series as a whole) - These on PS2 essentially defined my childhood.

Honorable mentions go to Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, and Rayman.

Also Super Mario World and Pokemon Emerald on GBA. :D Back in the day when you needed a cable to play multiplayer...makes me feel old.

And Mario Kart DS kinda defined middle-high school.

The first game I ever played was sonic the hedgehog 2 on the SEGA. The first games that I absolutely loved as a child would have to be "Golden Eye" and "Perfect Dark" for the N64, "Vigilante 8" on the PS1 and "AOE" and "AOE2" for the PC.
